Kershaw struck out nine in five strong innings, Xavier Paul hit a tie-breaking RBI single in the sixth, and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 4-3 on Sunday to take the deciding game in the series.

Jason Giambi took Zack Greinke deep, not much of a surprise given their history against each other. The rest of the Rockies battering the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner? That was a nice boost at the end of a road trip. Giambi homered and drove in four runs, Ian Stewart had three RBIs and the Colorado Rockies roughed up Greinke in an 11-7 win over the Kansas City Royals on Sunday.

Aaron Cook got all the support he needed from his teammates, both at the plate and in the field. Cook pitched effectively for 6 1-3 innings, Carlos Gonzalez homered and added a run-saving defensive gem in center field and the Colorado Rockies beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 11-3 Saturday night. The tone was set in the first inning.

The Colorado Rockies found their power stroke, and it gave them a sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Seth Smith, Carlos Gonzalez and Ryan Spilborghs hit consecutive home runs in the seventh inning, Troy Tulowitzki also homered and Colorado beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-2 on Thursday for the Rockies' first sweep of the season.

The Colorado Rockies recalled right-hander Matt Daley from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Thursday and optioned lefty Greg Smith to the Sky Sox. Daley is 0-1 with a 4.02 ERA in 19 games for the Rockies this season. He was sent down to Triple-A on May 16 to make room for starter Jeff Francis. Daley allowed two hits and struck out three in two games with the Sky Sox.

Even without overpowering stuff, Ubaldo Jimenez is tough to beat. Jimenez threw eight shutout innings, Seth Smith homered twice and the Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-3 on Wednesday night. Jimenez (9-1) continued his dominant start to the season, extending his current scoreless streak to 16 1-3 innings and dropping his ERA to 0.88, the best in baseball.
